CPU fair schedule parameter suggestions
« on: January 28, 2012, 09:13:14 PM »
I think it would be helpful to list "vzcpucheck" in the TUI to know the power of the hardware node when setting the config of a new container.

The CPUUNITS could be set via % or raw number.

The CPULIMIT should be explained somewhere that the *.conf file takes what you enter in the TUI and multiplies by CPUS number.  It is sometimes confusing going from the TUI entries to the OpenVZ info listed on their wiki to explain the exact way to do things.

Hm, I'm a bit unsure about the best way to express cpuunits/cpulimit/cpus in a menu. I mean, setting all 3 of them seems a bit wrong.

OpenVZ VM creation menu now shows vzcpucheck output too.

I like seeing the "Current CPU usage:" and the "Start on boot" option.

The only change I see right now is for the "CPU usage limit (%):" as I think that would be better as "CPU usage limit on each core (%)".  I know that is longer but it will help differentiate the CT.conf listing that is total cores %.

A numerical change that needs done is the "CPU usage min/max:" that is 50/100.  Setting that to 50 is way too high because if you choose 4 cores on a 6 core processor then you have just taken 200%.  I would much rather see that number down at 10 or 25.
