General Discussion / Re: cannot install OMS

Code: [Select]
uname -a
Linux opennode-1 2.6.32-042stab053.5 #1 SMP Tue Mar 27 11:42:17 MSD 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When I try the kernel update, it fails. The tail is:

Code: [Select]
Error: Trying to remove "vzkernel", which is protected
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

What is output for uname -a?
Could you please do: yum --enablerepo=opennode-test update opennode vzkernel - and reboot for newer kernel.

General Discussion / cannot install OMS
« Last post by JetJaguar on March 10, 2013, 10:47:48 PM »
I am using the current OMS bare metal iso. Opennode itself installs fine. 64-bit. I don't know what else to include for details.

After filling out the Opennode TUI, in which I put only an IP address and hostname, I hit the Save VM Settings button. I then get:

Code: [Select]

The only thing not working is the % of CPU/RAM use per VM.

The 'yum upgrade' and reboot made the OMS vanish from the list of VMs in the Opennode TUI. A 'vzctl start $number' got it to start back up again and everything is now as I'd expect in the OMS. The host is listed, as are the VMs on it.

Thank you again. I have got it working, kind of. Here's what I did:

Issued the command you stated, edited the VM host and OMS hosts files, registered a host with OMS and it never showed up. I entered the OMS shell and ran a 'yum upgrade' and restarted, issuing the same command you stated in your previous post when it came back up. I then ran 'salt-minion -l trace' on the VM host and watched it work. It then showed up in the OMS host. However, it's not showing up as a host of virtual machines and all the metrics are 100%, hdd space, mem, everything.

I've just done a 'yum upgrade' on the host and will see if anything is different when it reboots. Slow progress, but progress regardless.
